The issues of mainstreaming women in society and supporting women entrepreneurs holds paramount importance in the PAR Consulting project in Erzincan & Gümüşhane.

PAR's programme aims at enabling a more effective role for women in rural economic life and at improving their social and cultural life. Villagers who wish to take part are provided with training on establishing a business, marketing, communication, business and production planning and finance etc. PAR will also provide capital support to the best business plans. The project began at the end of May 2004, when villages were visited to introduce the scheme. To date, a total of 562 villagers have joined these meetings, and women with leadership qualities were given special roles and support in developing business ideas.
